The Thai FDA says bottled drinking water in Thailand is safe and meets international standards.
This follows a report from a nonprofit media group in the U.S. saying bottled water in nine countries, including Thailand, may contain microplastics that could increase cancer risk. The FDA explained that there is no solid scientific proof yet, and both the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. FDA have not confirmed the findings.
Thailand carefully checks the quality of bottled water and the plastic used. The FDA asks people not to worry and says they can report unsafe products through official channels.
