Amid Thailand’s extreme heat in 2023, with temperatures soaring up to 45.5 degrees Celsius, consumers have become increasingly health-conscious, particularly regarding hydration.
A study by Mintel found that 70% of Thais actively try to drink enough water each day to maintain their health, especially during the abnormally intense summer. This reflects a growing awareness among Thai consumers of the importance of water for the body.
The study also revealed that Thai individuals aged 45 and above (Gen X) are more likely to choose healthier water options—such as sugar-free or low-sugar water—at 43%, compared to just 33% among Gen Z.
Overall, nearly half of Thai consumers prioritize ingredients and health benefits in their beverage choices, especially clean, healthy drinking water. This behavior highlights a sustainable health trend and a strong intention to choose what’s best for the body in extreme climate conditions.
